Holidays to Lapland to see Santa

Taking a holiday to Lapland can be a fun filled wintery adventure for all. Lapland is found in Sweden, Norway and Finland up in the Arctic Circle. You can find all of your Christmas fantasies brought to life in Lapland where Santa and his elves live and work. Enjoy a ride on a sled pulled by an actual reindeer and watch your child’s eyes fill with wonder as they hand their list to Santa himself.
The Christmas activities include a sleigh ride, meet and greet with reindeers and Rudolph, meet Santa face to face, see Santa’s elves in action and visit the post office. Besides the Christmas theme you can also go snowmobiling, dogsledding, ice-skating, skiing and more winter sports.
The peak ski season is between February and April thought slopes do open in December. You will find ski trails for all level of skiers. Perhaps you may wish to try a different sort of skiing as hill skiing, cross-country skiing and alpine skiing are all offered. Lapland is also known for its dog-sleigh and snowmobile safaris.
Lapland is in the Arctic Circle so you will be able to experience some truly astounding sites. The Swedish Lapland is best known for its ice hotel, where you can stay and live in a building made completely of ice. Abisko national park is one of the most beautiful and rigged parks in the world and you can also view the aurora borealis at the correct time of year.
Finland offers accommodation in snow hotels, ice igloos and even a snow village. You can learn to drive your own team of huskies or try your hand at ice fishing. Saunas are also hugely popular in Finland so you too will be enjoying the luxury of your own sauna and complete relaxation.
Lapland Norway sits at the same latitude as Alaska, Greenland and Siberia so you can expect extreme weather as well as extreme scenery and adventures. Experience a combination of activities on both land and the water. If you can try and spot an Orca on an orca safari.
